About the project
The project will bring short, practical health sessions to schools and neighbourhoods in Yaoundé, with referrals to local health centres. A short survey before and after each round will show what participants learned and help the Health Policy department understand local needs.
Objectives
- Raise awareness of the early signs of diabetes and high blood pressure
- Encourage healthy eating and hygiene habits among pupils and families
- Connect people who need care with local health centres
Activities
- Interactive health sessions in schools and community halls
- Simple screening referrals in partnership with health centres
- Short surveys before and after each session
Expected outcomes
- Participants can recognise warning signs and know where to seek care
- More people visit a health centre after a referral
Impact indicators
- Number of people reached
- Share of participants who can name three warning signs
- Number of referrals completed
